JustOverlap Cookie Policy

Effective date: 17 July 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how BitVault SA uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit or use JustOverlap. It should be read together with the JustOverlap Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

JustOverlap is operated by:

BitVault SA

Contrada di Sassello 10

Lugano, Switzerland

Email: info(et)justoverlap.com

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your browser or device when you visit a website.

Similar technologies may include:

  • local storage;
  • session storage;
  • software-development-kit identifiers;
  • authentication tokens;
  • pixels or comparable browser technologies.

These technologies may be used to remember information, maintain a secure session or enable website functionality.

3. Cookies currently used by JustOverlap

JustOverlap currently uses only cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate, secure and deliver the Service.

These technologies may be used to:

  • authenticate users;
  • maintain login sessions;
  • protect accounts against unauthorised access;
  • complete Google sign-in;
  • maintain security protections;
  • remember essential application settings;
  • process subscription and billing workflows;
  • prevent fraud and misuse;
  • maintain the technical operation of booking pages.

Strictly necessary authentication and technical cookies generally do not require prior consent because the requested service cannot function properly without them. (European Commission)

4. Types of necessary technologies

Authentication technologies

These allow JustOverlap to recognise that you are signed in and maintain your authenticated session. Without them, users may be unable to access their account, rooms or settings.

Security technologies

These help:

  • protect user accounts;
  • prevent fraudulent requests;
  • detect misuse;
  • preserve session integrity;
  • protect forms and booking pages.

Functional technologies

These remember essential settings needed to provide the functions requested by the user. They may include:

  • session status;
  • selected room or application state;
  • authentication return location;
  • temporary booking information.

Payment-related technologies

Stripe may use necessary technologies when you visit its checkout or billing pages to process payments, authenticate payment methods, prevent fraud and manage subscriptions. Stripe controls the cookies used on Stripe-hosted pages according to its own policies.

Third-party authentication technologies

Google may use cookies when you sign in with Google or authorise Google Calendar access. Google controls the cookies placed on its own websites, sign-in pages and authorisation interfaces according to its own policies.

5. Cookies we do not currently use

JustOverlap does not currently intend to use cookies for:

  • personalised advertising;
  • cross-site behavioural tracking;
  • advertising retargeting;
  • selling user profiles;
  • third-party marketing;
  • session replay;
  • non-essential analytics.

This statement must be updated if such technologies are introduced.

6. Analytics

JustOverlap does not currently use non-essential analytics cookies requiring prior consent.

We may use limited technical logs necessary for:

  • service security;
  • fault diagnosis;
  • fraud prevention;
  • infrastructure monitoring;
  • maintaining availability.

These logs are not used to create advertising profiles. If we later introduce optional analytics technologies, they will not be activated for users where prior consent is required unless the user has made an appropriate choice.

Under EU rules, cookies requiring consent must not be placed before the user has given consent through a positive action. (European Union)

7. Cookie consent banner

Because JustOverlap currently uses only strictly necessary technologies, a consent banner may not be displayed. A notice or cookie-policy link may nevertheless be provided to explain the technologies used.

If JustOverlap introduces optional analytics, advertising or other non-essential cookies, we will implement an appropriate consent mechanism where required. That mechanism should allow users to:

  • accept optional cookies;
  • reject optional cookies;
  • choose between relevant categories;
  • withdraw or change their preferences later.

Consent must be freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous. (European Commission)

8. Duration

Cookies may be either:

Session cookies

These generally expire when you close your browser or when the authenticated session ends.

Persistent cookies

These remain on the device for a specified period or until deleted. Necessary persistent technologies may be used where required to maintain secure authentication, remember essential settings, support fraud prevention and protect the Service. The exact duration may depend on the relevant provider, browser and security configuration.

9. Third-party services

JustOverlap may rely on third-party services that use their own necessary cookies or similar technologies, including:

  • Google, for authentication and calendar authorisation;
  • Stripe, for checkout, subscription management and fraud prevention;
  • Supabase, for authentication, database and application infrastructure;
  • hosting and security providers.

Third-party providers process information according to their own privacy and cookie documentation. JustOverlap does not control cookies placed directly by third parties on their own websites or hosted interfaces.

10. Managing cookies

You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • view stored cookies;
  • delete cookies;
  • block particular websites from setting cookies;
  • block all cookies;
  • clear local storage.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent JustOverlap from functioning correctly. You may be unable to sign in, remain authenticated, access rooms, manage subscriptions or complete bookings securely.

11. Do Not Track and browser signals

Some browsers transmit Do Not Track or similar privacy signals. There is not currently one universally applicable technical standard governing all such signals. Where legally required and technically supported, JustOverlap will respect recognised consent or privacy-preference mechanisms.

12. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when:

  • our technologies change;
  • new service providers are introduced;
  • optional analytics or marketing tools are added;
  • legal requirements change.

The latest version will be published with a revised effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the Service where appropriate.
